A box or two!

I know I have been absent a bit from here (and many of the other SU! or craft sites I visit) but I find at the moment if I spend too long of the computer my eyes get blurry and it seems to upset the vertigo, so I only do it in short bursts! And, this will be one of them!

I just popped in to share with you some of the boxes that I have been creating for a tutorial I have been working on, which I will be demonstrating at a workshop this coming Wednesday evening. ~waving~ to Karen, Sarah, Sally and the others! Everyone who comes along will get to create their own box (which will fit 8 standard size cards and envelopes) and take home a tutorial with step by step instructions for future reference.

I am going to be very brief and just post my pictures here and neglect to list the supplies used, if I get the chance to (and remember) later I will update the post with these extra details. I might even be persuaded to share my tutorial with you all here!

Just Add Ink Challenge #35 - A Theme Challenge!

Sorry I haven't posted anything recently but I was taken to hospital by ambulance late last week suffering from Labyrinthitis (an inflammation of the inner ear) which caused me severe vertigo and other unpleasant symptoms which I won't go into detail here. I was only released from hospital yesterday and still have some minor effects.

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to share with you my Design Team entry for the latest Just Add Ink challenge 'Just Add Sympathy'. We all need to make these type of cards at some stage and so it is nice to have some ideas of what to do, as we are often not in a really creative mood at that time.

Here is mine:

Stamps: Inspired by Nature, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Inks: Baja Breeze, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy
Accessories: Brayer, Eclipse Tape, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Ribbon, Button

I hope you enjoy looking and make sure you pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and check out the other great entries by the Design Team and those who have already participated in the challenge and then perhaps have a go yourself if you haven't already! Thanks for stopping by and hopefully I will be back soon with some other things to share when I can get creating again.

In Colors New Demo Promotion

It has been a long time since my last post as life has been a bit busy for me lately, but hopefully over the next couple of days I will find some time to craft and then share what I have created with you all here on my blog! I am hoping that when I collect the mail today at the post office that my order of new items will be there - that will definitely encourage me to stamp and create!

In the meantime I thought I would remind you of the great offer SU! have at the moment for New Demonstrators who join between now and 15 October - that is, to receive a FREE In Colors set along with the already reduced Starter Kit! There is no better time to join me and my Tassie Inkydinks than now! [Click on the image below to view the PDF flyer details]

So click on my earlier posts to check out additional details about this promotion or what it means to be a SU! Demonstrator and if you have any questions just contact me via email or phone.
Don't forget to pop back here on Friday when my latest Just Add Ink Design Team entry is revealed, here is a sneak peak - what will the challenge be?

Swaps for Regionals in Launceston

If you are familiar with Stampin' Up events, then you would know that swaps are a big part of the fun. Many demonstrators create card fronts (or whole cards) and other items to swap between each other to provide inspiration and ideas for upcoming workshops, stamp camps, classes and other creative events.

As I am off to Regionals in Launceston today I thought I would share with you the swaps that I have taken with me. I made two designs and 12 of each, so I hope that is enough. The designs focussed on two of our new stamp sets in the new catalogue - Artistic Etchings and Friends Never Fade. I also used one of the new Designer Series Paper packs Greenhouse Gala.

Here is a close-up of each design:

Stamps: Artistic Etchings
Inks: Pacific Point
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Pacific Point 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon Striped, Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

Stamps: Friends Never Fade
Inks: Baja Breeze, Versamark
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Greenhouse Gala DSP
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Clear Embossing Powder, Soft Sky 3/8" Double Stitched Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals, Snail Adhesive

If you would like to join in the fun of Stampin' Up! events and become a demonstrator yourself then click here to find out more or send me an email.

Thanks for visiting my blog and hopefully finding some inspiration for yourself.

New Catalogue Launch 1

This morning I held my first catalogue launch and had 5 people in attendance and I am about to hold my second one in about 20 minutes! As you can see my kitchen area where I hold my classes is not very big (I usual limit attendance to 8 as a result) and so having the group split over two session seems to work well. As you can see below everyone was busy putting together the make and takes that I had prepared, complete with step-by-step instructions.

Everyone was very proud of their results and I am glad they all enjoyed themselves!

Below is a full picture of the 4 make and takes that they made (as I previously only included a sneak peak in an earlier post)...

A pillow box in Krumb Cake cardstock (previously known as Kraft), with Certainly Celery ribbon and a flower from the Vintage Vogue stamp set and leaves using the Two-step Bird Punch.

Two gift cards featuring the Cute by the Inch stamp set.

A Father's Day bookmark inspired by one from Bronwyn Eastley's blog.

And a vintage style card using the new stamp set Artistic Etchings and a new Designer Series Paper called Newsprint.

It was great sharing the excitement of the new catalogue with Angelene, Jill, Letitia, Melissa and Louise, and sharing some ideas and inspiration with them! Hi ladies, I am glad you got to come to my home during the day and to see our lovely water view which you miss when/if you come to my evening classes!

Better run now as the next group of ladies will be arriving!

Just Add Ink #33 - A Sketch Challenge!

Over at Just Add Ink this week we have a sketch challenge for you. I like doing sketch challenges as they give me a direction to go when I have lost my mojo or am stuck for an idea.

I had a colour combo of Pretty in Pink and Basic Grey in my head to start with and so with the sketch I was all set to go and of course I had to use one of the new stamp sets - - which I have been playing with lately. I decided to make my own background DSP and for this I needed to use my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig but as you can see I need more practice with it when using the clear mount stamp, which is what I have this set in. I think my stamps moved a little on the clear mount block when I was aligning the images up. Gives me an excuse to make this card again to try for perfection as I was really happy with the overall design, although the flourishes did not align straight!
Hop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and see what other fabulous creations the other Design Team members have to share with you and then have a go at the sketch challenge for yourself.

Anyway I need to run now and clean my house and set up for my new catalogue launch, first one is scheduled for this morning at 10 am - 1 pm and the second tonight at 7 pm - 10 pm and then tomorrow morning it is off early to Launceston to get together with other great Tassie demonstrators at Regionals. Looking forward to meeting a couple of the Just Add Ink Design Team members in person and not just online - see you tomorrow Bronwyn and Tania!

If you would like to join the Stampin' Up! family and become a demonstrator there is a fabulous offer on at the moment with the new In Colours - click on my Special Offers link above or the link on the left 'What type of Demonstrator would you be...' to get more information or contact me if you have any questions.

I had better run now, thanks for stopping by and don't forget to leave a comment as I love to hear from my blog visitors!

ESAD Blog Hop

I hope you’re ready for the ESAD 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue Blog Hop! You may have come here from Clare Mcilhatton's blog, but if not feel free to start the hop here on my blog and hop around the various (25) blogs until you come back here, seeing what great ideas and inspiration you can find for items in the newly released catalogue! Then also see your wishlist grow!

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!

We love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors but we also share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when it's needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

Now the explanations are out of the way here are my designs using some lovely products to be found in the new catalogue. I have focussed on two new sets - Artistic Etchings and Cute by the Inch (Hostess Level 2 set). I have been using the Artistic Etchings set a lot lately and have already had some sneak peaks here on my blog, so I thought I would use it in a different way, this time for a Christmas card. To add a bit of sparkle I have embossed the baubles with clear embossing powder mixed with Dazzling Diamonds. I also used another Hostess stamp set (Level 3) Occasional Quotes for the greeting. A matching bow in Real Red grosgrain ribbon, some sponging on the edges and my card was done!

A close-up of the dazzling baubles!

I then made a set of three gift cards using the flourish from the Artistic Etchings set and combining it with several stamps from the set Cute by the Inch. A Scallop Square Punch, some sponging on the edges again and using Stampin' Dimensionals to add some dimension made these cards quick and easy to make.

Another idea for using the Cute by the Inch set is to use the stamps to make gift tags. These are even quicker to make when you have the Large Tag and the Extra-Large Tag Punches, saves a lot of cutting!

I hope you have found some ideas and inspiration here and now it is time to 'hop' on over to Charmaine Black's blog to see what great projects she has to share with you.

Don't forget to leave a comment as we love to hear your response about the items we share with you and by leaving a comment on all 25 blogs you have the chance to win some BLOG CANDY!

To qualify ....

* this is only open to customers (ie. demonstrators do not qualify)
* you must visit every blog and leave a comment on each one
* once you have commented on each blog send an email to and advise Leonie that you have commented on all 25 blogs
