Still AddINKtive Challenge

Two of my dear stamping friends in Tassie have combined forces and their talents to create a new challenge site called "Still AddINKtive" --- Bronwyn Eastley and Kathy Tanner. I have been watching their first few weeks come and go and haven't had the time or opportunity to get into my craft room to join in the fun. However, today I let the housework go and just played in my craft room...ALL DAY...and didn't feel guilty about it at all. I think it was just what I needed and with the weather being so rainy all day, what better way than spend it playing with my inks and stamps!

I managed to make three cards today (two you will have to see tomorrow when/if you pop back as they are part of this week's Just Add Ink challenge) and that goes live in just over an hour!

The third card is the one that I have created for the Still AddINKtive challenge, which is to use the following colours...
At first I thought this was an unusual colour combination, however, as I began to play and just let my card take shape I came to like the colours together. I was very pleased with my card and I think my mojo is slowly returning and I can't wait to create some more new cards and projects.

I even carried on with my efforts of today by decorating the inside of all the cards I made, including this one.

I haven't stamped the Forever Young stamp set for a while now, but I really like the images for vintage style cards, and it makes me reminisce. I also just realised that this was the stamp set featured on the Still AddINKtive blog a week or so back, so maybe that was sinking in to my creative thoughts too!

I had fun with this colour challenge and even more fun playing in my craft room!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to come back at midnight (when the JAI challenge goes live) or tomorrow when you are not so sleepy and see the other cards I made.

Just Add Ink - Sketch Challenge

Friday means Just Add Ink challenge time and although it was not my week to design I decided that as I needed to make a wedding card for this weekend and I haven't done much crafting lately that I would join in and use this week's sketch as my inspiration.

Here is the sketch...

Here is my card...

As you can see I used props this week when taking the photo...can you guess where the wedding might be held...yes, on a beach! I am looking forward to attending this wedding as it one of my daughter's and my friends, and as Emily can't attend being away in Melbourne I knew I definitely had to be there to help Eliza and Kane celebrate along with their beautiful daughter Mia and the rest of their family and friends.

I tried to incorporate both the elegance of a wedding theme, using silver and black colours. as well as a beach influence and so thought the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder did that very well...what do you think?

I also didn't know which shells to use in my props and so here is the first photo I took...

Project Recipe:
Marry Me (retired)
Cardstock/Paper: Basic Black, Brushed Silver, Whisper White and Neutrals Collection DSP Pack
Ink: BasicBlack
Accessories: Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Designer Frames Folder, Big Shot, Black Satin Ribbon and a Silver Filigree Brad

I hope everyone enjoyed our Blog Hop last week to kick start the creative projects for 2013 and we also hope you will join in again with this week's Sketch hop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and upload your project using the sketch above.

JAI Blog Hop!

Welcome to the "Just Add Ink Blog Hop", we hope that the ideas and projects put forward by the design team will help you get inspired and to encourage you to create using your "Big Shot" and upload and share your projects with us on the Just Add Ink site.

You will most likely have come here from the Just Add Ink site, if you are not a regular follower/stalker of my blog, and I am first cab off the rank, however, if you get lost feel free to go to the Just Add Ink site and check the list and have fun hoping again!

My project is not original but one that I have thought to do for a while now and with my good friend Jody-ann keen to join in this weekend's market at Dodges Ferry (I didn't manage to get to any at the end of 2012 when their market season kicked off!), I thought why not make a few to sell. I have made some cute little 'Angry Bird' gift boxes using the 'Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die' and decorating it up using various punches.

Here they are...

However, I think they will be more appealing filled with yummy sweet treats!

I found that I got inspired and carried away with the 'Angry Bird' theme that I then went onto make some matching bookmarks to add to my 'Animal Bookmark' collection that I like to sell and that I find very popular with the children who come to our stall at the market.

As you can see one poor little fellow needs to be finished off with his paperclip, but because I am so organised in my craft room, NOT!, I couldn't find my stash of paperclips before I needed to take this photo for my blog post.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing some of my first projects for 2013 and encourage you to click on the image below, to visit my friend Delys Cram, and continue on with our Just Add Ink Blog Hop. I know you will find lots of inspiration and great projects from the other team members, they are such a talented and lovely bunch of girls to be apart of and I can't wait until many of us get together in May in Brisbane for Stampin' Up!'s Annual Convention!

Thanks for stopping by and have fun hopping from one blog to the next!

For the teenager!

Hi everyone, sorry for the absence but my personal life has not allowed me time, energy or the focus to craft and update my blog more regularly.

So here is my first post for 2013 and it is a birthday card for my nephew, Nicholas, who reminded me several times that he was going to be a teenager soon and that I should make sure a birthday card gets to him on time. I have a few nieces and nephews who look forward to getting a handmade card from Auntie Mae (aka Nanny McPhee), and it was a pleasure to see the first thing my nephew Damian showed me when I stayed with them recently was the birthday card I made and sent him late last year.

Now I must remember to get this card in the post so that it arrives on time next week!

Don't forget to pop back here tonight, just after midnight if you are awake!, or tomorrow as the team at Just Add Ink are going to kick off the challenge year with a "Big Shot Blog Hop"!  So I encourage you to hop on around the teams' blogs from tomorrow and see what inspiration we can provide you. I know the girls in the team inspire me and have been a great personal support over the last few months...THANKS GIRLS!

Thanks also to those who regularly stop by my blog to see what I have been up to and to those who leave lovely comments to keep me encouraged.
