I had a lovely day today, although it started off with some housework and the weather was showery, it ended with lots of special moments.
Firstly, I had lunch with a fellow SU! demo Julie Leeper at the State Cinema cafe, a yummy cottage pie, just right for today's weather. Then we continued to chat over a cup of tea at her home surrounded by lots of stamping inspiration! She is such a lovely lady and one who creates such beautiful pieces of art.
Then off I went to Sharkra Medi Spa for my mother's day treat (voucher given to me by my children this year), which was two hours of pampering...eyelash tint, brow shape, aroma spa facial, neck, shoulder and decolletage massage, hand massage/treatment and a shellac manicure! I felt very relaxed and very special, thanks to my children and their partners, Dylan & Sarah and Emily & Jake, and Caitlyn at Sharkra.
Then home to a beautifully cooked Chicken Paella, that I made might I add, but which I ate alone...although my son did offer for me to come to their place for tea...however, after chatting with Julie today I was keen to get into my craft room this evening.
Which is the ultimate reason for this post, to share the card I created using some of the new DSP soon to be available in the upcoming SU! catalogue from July 2. It was also based on a layout of one of Julie's beautiful cards and which inspired me to use my Designer Builder Brads...which I had yet to use, believe it or not!
Here is a close-up of my brad...
I punched out a small flower from my featured DSP (from Soho Subway) and stuck it on the brad and covered this with the epoxy bubble. I then punched out an Early Espresso 1" circle to go behind my brad to make it stand out more on the Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon and against the beautiful DSP that I was featuring.
If you wish to order any of these items from the current Seasonal Catalogue (soon to end) then click on the image below and you will be taken to my Online Store...
|Designer Builder Brads #129329 - $11.95 (16 brads)|
|Natural 7/16" Trim Ribbon #129287 - $11.95|
What a lovely day! I hope you had one too and that your weekend will be a relaxing one and maybe you too can find some time to stamp or craft.
PS - my husband came home from a late nursing shift while I was writing this post and said he liked the card and it reminded him of old fashioned furniture fabric (his description of vintage I feel), I like it when he compliments my cards in the positive!
