JAI#184 - Just Add....Bows!

Well this week has surely flown by! It is Friday again and that means time again for another Just Add Ink challenge.

This week we are challenging you to "Just Add... bows" to your project, which for some can be a challenge in actually tying a perfect bow.

However, you can add a bow to your project in many ways, a tied bow, a stamped bow, a die cut bow, a bow from ribbon, twine, paper etc. The ideas are endless.

Here is my project, a cute box with a bow on top. This will be the wrapping for my lucky door prize at next month's Stamp Class, so this challenge has helped me get ready ahead of time!

I hope you will find the time to play along and don't forget to check out what the rest of the Design Team did with this challenge.

Have a lovely weekend and thanks again for stopping by.

JAI#183 - Sketch Challenge

This week at Just Add Ink we have a fantastic sketch put together by the lovely Tina to inspire our creativity.

Here is the sketch...
I decided to not to take the sketch literally with the hexagons but to swap them for another shape. I enjoyed playing with this sketch and again some more beautiful DSP, plus, the new style brads.

This week we are also saying farewell to Jo who is stepping down from the Design Team as life is just getting too busy for her and she needs to offload this commitment. Jo brought a CAS style to the team and she also helped out lots with the admin side of things too, so thank you Jo, and best of luck with everything.

Check out the JAI blog to see how the other DT members interpreted the sketch and then play along as well.

JAI#182 - Just Add...Frames!

Friday is a good day of the week for many of us, not only being the last working day of the week, but also time for another Just Add Ink challenge. Although this was not my week to design I did manage to find some time to play in my craft room last weekend and so I decided to get ahead a little on my challenge requirements. So I also created one for this week's challenge which is to...

Just Add...Frames!

Having played with the framelits dies during my last Stamp Class, I decided to use them again for this challenge, and also made use of a panel I had stamped ages ago but not put on a card yet. I then added a few additional pieces of DSP, which I really love using and have lots of, to make this beautiful card...

What do you think? Does it qualify for the challenge of adding frames and what do you like about it?

Don't forget to visit the Just Add Ink blog and see how the other girls added frames to their projects.

Have an awesome weekend, I intend to, and I also look forward to a bbq at my daughter's new home, having moved out last weekend into her own space with her boyfriend. I must admit I am glad she hasn't moved too far away from home, just down the road, as I miss her already (not that she was home much anyway!). Love you Em! ♥

September Stamp Class Cards

I thought I should pop in quickly to share with you the following three cards that the ladies who attended my Stamp Class on Friday night made.

Card 1 - featured the technique of making narrower frames/matting, using the Labels Collection Framelits (check out this YouTube video to see how it is done)and 2-Step Stamping, using the beautiful Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set.

Card 2 - Showing how quick and easy it is to put a card together using some beautiful DSP from SU!'s latest Holiday Catalogue and a touch of bling!

Card 3 - demonstrating a quick and easy masculine card using some Washi Tape and the versatile stamp set Gorgeous Grunge.

I know I enjoyed putting these cards and kits together for my stamp class, and from the reactions of the ladies who attended, they did as well.

My next Stamp Class is scheduled for the first Friday evening (and Saturday afternoon) in October (4th & 5th), class numbers are limited, so get in early to book your spot!

Just Add Ink #181

This week at Just Add Ink the challenge is a colour combination of...
As I have been very busy at work lately, I decided to go with a simple layout and design, and also because I had no Bermuda Bay cardstock, just the inkpad.

Here is my card...

The greeting is from a new stamp set called Million & One and I stamped it inside the frame image from Papaya Collage. I then layered that on a mount of silver cardstock and then over a basic black embossed panel, using the Textured Impressions Folder Stylish Stripes. I simply added some more silver with the 1/8" Silver Ribbon available in the latest Holiday Catalogue and a couple of silver rhinestones.

I would also like to take a moment to thank the whole Just Add Ink Design Team for their efforts in keeping this great AUS/NZ challenge site going as both Delys and I have decided to step down from our roles of managing the site. A very special thank you to Delys who I have enjoyed working with side by side, across the waters from Tassie to NZ. I have been assisting Delys for the last couple of years, and although it has been very enjoyable, I felt with my current personal work commitments etc I needed to step away from some other commitments, this being one of them. I have not left the DT and will still be participating in this great challenge site with regular submissions etc. A special thanks to the girls who have stepped up to keep our great challenge site running, it is so much like a little family, which we experience when we have our 'family' get togethers at the annual Stampin' Up! Conventions! Thanks team!

Now don't forget to pop on over to the JAI blog and check out the other DT submissions and have fun with this colour challenge yourselves.
