Just Add Ink #193 - Inspiration Photo

With Christmas not that far away Kim gave us this Inspiration Photo to get us into the Christmas spirit and I think the Design Team 'starred' in their creations...

I was so slow in getting my card together (and now this post) so I was a bit 'star struck' with the creations already up and felt the pressure to come up with something different, using what products I had that fitted the theme.

Anyway the other night (after atleast 3 failed ideas that went in the bin!) I came up with this card.

I was especially pleased to use the 'Merry' word that I had previously cut out, borrowing a friend's (thanks Bridgette!) Thinlit Dies, and had sitting there to use. I since bought my own set of dies and will surely put them to good use.

This post has even taken longer to go up on my blog as this morning while I was typing it in my daughter came by with her new little pooch (as yet unnamed) and thus distracted me, then I had an appointment in town to keep plus get the groceries, that I have only just come back online to finish it.

Oh well, better late than never they say! Don't forget to see what other wonderful 'starry' designs the other Design Team members created by popping on over to Just Add Ink and get inspired to join in the fun.

Have a great weekend.

Just Add Ink #192

This week at Just Add Ink there is a colour combination for the challenge and it is one that I wouldn't have put together myself. However, I thought I remembered something like this in one of our DSP packs and so I went to have a look and yes, I was right! Venetian Romance had both the Island Indigo and Tangerine Tango colours and I thought that would be my starting point.

Here are the colours...

I love playing with DSP packs and I was quite pleased with how my card came together.

Go and check out the other great ideas using these colours by the JAI Design Team and then see what you can come up with.

This weekend I am off to the Annual H&R Retreat, and we will be staying in Launceston, so a great opportunity for me to catch up with the lovely Tania Gould (Friday evening) and Bronwyn Eastley (Sunday evening) either side of our H&R events on Saturday.

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Just Add Ink #191

So glad it is Friday as that means not only the end of a busy working week for me, but time for another Just Add Ink challenge, and I have been slack in this area lately. So I am pleased to be able to add my card for this week's challenge, although I was late getting it into JAI, so I hope I makes the weekly JAI blog post.

Anyway, this week the challenge is a sketch from the lovely Delys and it is this one....

Having been busy last weekend with my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack's and having some fun colouring the Santa's List stamp on one of the cards (check out my earlier post here), I decided to make that the feature of my card for this week's sketch.

Here is my card....

The design team have some lovely cards using this sketch, so don't forget to pop on over there and check them out, and then have a go with the sketch for yourself and share your creation with us!

Have a lovely weekend. I am planning a family dinner this weekend, as now both of my children have left home, I think it is important to get together regularly to keep in touch and share a meal.

Thanks for stopping by and also to those who take the time to leave comments, I appreciate reading them.

More Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

In my last post I shared with you a card that was going to be made at my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack workshops. Well the weekend has come and gone and so has my two Christmas SAS.

Fun was had by everyone who attended and I believe from the responses everyone enjoyed making the stack of Christmas cards, 3 each of 4 different designs.

So this post is to share with you the other 3 card designs that they made.

I took inspiration for designing this card from one that I created as a Convention swap. I just love the effect of white embossing on dark coloured cardstock (such as, white on elegant eggplant, white on early espresso etc.)

I think this image of Santa is a gorgeous traditional one and so everyone had a go at a little water colouring using blender pens. This photo doesn't do the card justice (shows how poor a photographer I am!) as you can't really pick up the little bit of dazzling diamonds we added to Santa's white trim of his hat, cuffs and jacket trim. We used Blush Blossom pen to colour his skin, which I have just discovered is no longer in the current catalogue, a shame as this colour is great for this purpose.

The final card was a more simple yet effective design featuring some beautiful DSP and the lovely Old Olive Simply Styled Embelishments (found in the current Holiday catalogue).

Well it is back to another busy working week, however, I do hope to get to have some time for myself in my craft room as next weekend is another of our local markets and I didn't make the last one as I was ill.

Have a lovely week and thanks for stopping by. Don't forget to let me know which of the cards is your favourite and why that was created at my recent SAS.

Christmas Stamp-a-Stack

Well it has been a while since I posted an actual card or project that I have created here on my blog and that is because of a combination of things, being busy at work, visiting relatives and then getting unwell. Today, I am still suffering from vertigo and also the flu, but it is a good reason to slow down and rest and perhaps craft a little!

I am in the midst of preparing for my Christmas Stamp-a-Stacks next weekend, which is where a group of my lovely customers and friends come along and stamp a stack of Christmas cards. They will in fact be making 12 cards, 3 each of 4 designs. There will also be gifts and lucky door prizes! I am looking forward to the fun.

I thought I would share one of the designs here today on my blog and here it is...

This card uses the following products...

133285 - Festive Flurry Stamp Set & Framelits (cheaper as a bundle!)

One of the joys of being a demonstrator is sharing the fun of creating with others and making your own gifts and cards.

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by!
