Embossing Paste Lifts Me Up!

I have found time over the weekend to finally get out the Embossing Paste and have a play, firstly, as it's white consistency and then later I coloured it with Lemon Lime Twist Reinker (samples to share in a later post).

I had a difficult week last week and wasn't feeling inspired when I went in to my craft room Saturday evening, but as I made myself take the time to just 'play' with this new product Embossing Paste, I gradually found my inspiration and also my mood lifted! It is always important to take time for self-care and I consider my hobby/business cheaper than therapy and it lifts me up...so why not use an appropriate stamp set and coordinating dies... Lift Me Up stamp set (p. 58) and the coordinating dies Up & Away Thinlits Dies (p. 216).

This was the first card that I made and I am often needing congratulations cards for my team members when they achieve specific goals, so I thought what a great sentiment to use and then I'll have a card already to go!

For this card I also used a colour combination that is listed in the 'In Color Combinations' document below... Basic Black, Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Fresh Fig.

I am really trying to be consistent these days and decorate the inside of my card as much as the outside. Why put so much love and care in to the front, to simply turn to the inside and find a blank canvas (other than a lovely greeting we personally add)... do you decorate the inside as well as the front?

As I had cut an A4 piece of Soft Sky in quarters (almost perfect size for card fronts, without a border) to play with the Embossing Paste and my cloud masking template (Pattern Party Decorative Masks p. 201) I had a few more panels that could be made into cards... so of course I had to make some more!

The next one I made to enter in to the current Just Add Ink challenge which had a photo inspiration, right along my current creating lines...

Again, using the colour swatches above as a guide and reflected (no pun intended!) in the photo above, I chose to go with Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, Daffodil Delight, Berry Burst and Pool Party to create my card below...

The final card I have made so far (1 panel left to create with!) with the Lift Me Up bundle and my Embossing Paste cloud background was again using a colour swatch suggested above, Basic Black, Soft Sky, So Saffron and Powder Pink. This is going to be a great "go to" colour inspiration chart for me, I am sure of it!

If you look closely you may notice that a couple of cards has the feature balloon with a bit of gloss, that is because I used Versamark ink over them and embossed them with some Clear Embossing Powder. I also added a few extra clouds for added dimension.

So this great stamp set did just that it "Lift Me Up"!

I love my hobby/business as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I love the added benefits is gives me... therapy, a discount on my crafting supplies and great friends, both as customers and demos! Do you need some cheaper therapy in your life, do you need a hobby for some self-care... then consider joining my team in July as there is a great bonus offer on at the moment and don't we all need to spoil ourselves once in a while? All three are beautiful cards, Mae! So glad that you were able to take time out to just play and enjoy creating for a while - it's something we all need from time to time :-) I love the different looks you've been able to create using similar backgrounds and just changing a few details- so pretty! Thanks for sharing with us again at Just Add Ink this week.
