Mini Desktop Calendars

While browsing Pinterest, Instagram, Google, YouTube etc for ideas and inspiration last night I stumbled across a video by Angelina Clark (Intatwyne Designs) using our beautiful Gingham Gala DSP to create cute little desktop calendars.

Well she reminded me that I too buy, nearly every year, some mini calendars with the intention of creating little gifts or projects for my team members, customers and/or friends....and guess what? Yes, I had a little pack of these in my office supplies drawer with the intention to create something late last year and use as gifts, and guess what, I hadn't even got them out of their packet!!

As I thought her mini desktop calendars were a quick and easy project that I could create in my short evening break, and I wanted to use up some of my beautiful Gingham Gala DSP, I decided to get creating. There are many examples and more detailed ideas out there in the world wide web, but I like quick and easy, so these suited my purposes exactly!

For those who are interested in getting these mini calendars to make your own, I sourced mine from a local scrapbook store, however, you can easily search and find these on Ebay etc.

I made up 10 little desktop calendars, two of each colour from the DSP pack, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Highland Heather and Lemon Lime Twist.

I have included a brief outline of how these are made, however, if you are a visual learner and like to watch how to make them then check out Angelina's video here.

Product items used are displayed below and you can order them directly from my Online Store 24/7 and remember that during Sale-A-Bration any order of $90+ will earn you a FREE Sale-A-Bration Reward! I have listed the various adhesives that you could use, although I mainly used Tombow with the Snail Adhesive for the bottom edge. You could also use our Tear and Tape.

I have a few of these cute little calendars to give away so comment below and mention your favourite SAB product (browse the online SAB brochure here) and I will send out six of them to those who leave some love!

Supplies required:

  • 1 piece - 3½" x 6½" Cardstock (calendar frame)
  • 1 piece - 2" x 3" Cardstock (to adhere calendar to)
  • 2 pieces - 3¼" x 2¼" Gingham Gala DSP

Instructions:

  1. Score on the long-side of the larger piece of cardstock at 2½" , 5", 6"
  2. Flip the piece over and score at 5½", this allows a better score/fold line for the frame stand
  3. Fold and burnish score lines with a bone folder for crisp folds
  4. Adhere calendar to the smaller piece of coordinating cardstock
  5. Adhere DSP pieces to the outside of the calendar frame
  6. Mitre off corners of the bottom edge to be adhered for the frame
  7. Adhere the bottom of the frame together
  8. With the seam at the back adhere the calendar to the front of the frame
  9. Enjoy your little desktop calendar or give away as a gift!
