Thank you!

I am feeling so blessed and thankful at the moment because my beautiful daughter, Emily, whisked me away for a couple of nights. I had no idea of the destination or the plans she had for us. It was a lovely couple of days away together in Launceston, staying at the Peppers Silo Hotel, which included an upgrade made by Emily for a T.L.C. treatment at the Silo Day Spa. This was a beautiful 2-hour long treatment...so relaxing! A day shopping, wine tasting, movies in our room and of course some delicious meals and cocktails.

In this frame of mind, being thankful, and wanting to avoid doing things on my 'to do' list today I decided to check out one of my favourite challenge sites... Just Add Ink. This week's challenge is to add a 'technique' and so I decided to ink up one of my new stamp sets To A Wild Rose, which has a beautiful rose stamp that uses a 3-step stamping technique.

I also decided to play around with some colour combinations that I haven't used before, Melon Mambo, Lovely Lipstick and Merry Merlot, for the 3-step stamping of that beautiful rose stamp. The Stamparatus made this 3-step stamping technique much easier, using the grid paper for a test sample of my colour combination, plus, aligning of the three stamps.

My card base was with Basic Black cardstock and I mounted a piece of designer series paper from the Monster Bash DSP pack onto a panel of Merry Merlot cardstock. The front panel was adhered to the black cardstock with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I wrapped a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon around the front panel and then I mounted my 3-step stamped rose on some Stampin' Dimensionals along with the 2-step stamped leaf (I didn't do the 3-step leaf this time).

I white embossed the 'Thank You' greeting, from the Magnolia Blooms stamp set in the beginner stampers Experience Creativity Brochure, onto Basic Black cardstock and diecut it with a Stitched Circle Die. This too was lifted off the card panel using Stampin' Dimensionals.

I coloured some Basic Rhinestones with my Lovely Lipstick Dark Stampin' Blends to add some bling that matched and then decorated the inside with a panel of Whisper White cardstock mounted on some Merry Merlot and finished off with my off-cut strip of DSP.

I was very happy with how my card turned out and enjoyed creating it more than some of the items I should have been doing from my 'to do' list.... tomorrow is another day!

Check out the inspiration and techniques used for this challenge by the lovely team over at Just Add Ink and join in the fun yourself.
