Patchwork patterns and cards? Why not!

Have you ever thought about a connection between patchworking and cardmaking? Well, I have as my mother was a keen patchworker and I often made cards with this theme for her when she was alive. With the death of my father just before Christmas and touching some of the quilts he had of hers I was again reminded of patchwork patterns when creating in my craft space.

I recently created a card using the From My Heart Designer Series Paper (DSP) and you can check that out in this blog post here. I also used patchworking as the inspiration for my February tutorial for Stamping Sisters and the card I created today was inspired by my tutorial, although a different pattern, as those who have purchased the tutorial bundles will see.

Here is the card I created today using the Golden Honey Specialty DSP and one of the small sized stitched square dies to create a patchwork style pattern on my card front. When you use papers from the same pack you are sure of having coordinating patterns and colours.

I used my Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blend to colour the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon to coordinate with my project. A great way to have the correct colour ribbon, without lots of rolls, is to by white ones and colour them with our Stampin' Blends.

You can find lots of patchwork patterns around to inspire your card creations and if you want to see the one I created especially for the Stamping Sisters Tutorial Bundles then you can find all the details on my blog page here.

Here is the sneak peak of my card that is part of the five tutorials you receive with our February Stamping Sisters Tutorial Bundle.

I am really enjoying creating with the Golden Honey Specialty DSP and here are a few more cards (some CASED from other talented card makers) that I made with this item, which you can receive FREE during Sale-A-Bration simply by placing a $90 order of your favourite stamping supplies. Shop here now.

The DSP is just bee-utiful and I am having so much fun creating with it and I am sure you will too.
