JAI#155 - Sketch Challenge

It is time again for another Just Add Ink challenge and this week it is a sketch that I put together.

As I have had another difficult fortnight and this past week also an unexpected visitor, thereby, losing access to my craft room, I had to wait until this evening (before he came back from visiting his wife in hospital) when I could quickly pop in there and create my card for this week's challenge. I decided that as I only had limited time to make something (just an hour) I decided to follow the sketch literally and as the other DT had used flowers and feminine styled cards I thought I would try to come up with something along the masculine line and using autumn colours. I was rather pleased with how it turned out and so quickly took my photos before cleaning up the mess I made and heading out the door to walk the dog.

Now a few hours later I get to quickly prepare my post (after doing the JAI challenge one) and share with you what I created. I used the stamp set French Foliage which has been on my shelf for a little while without seeing any ink lately, so time to bring it out again.

If you look closely you might see that I altered my background DSP slightly on the bottom by embossing it with the Honeycomb Textured Impressions Folder to reflect the different shaded areas on the sketch. I really like how the feature panels look raised up off the front with Stampin' Dimensionals. I was also really pleased with the effect my sponging made and the lovely autumn colours used (More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy and Early Espresso). As a result I decided to carry on over to the inside of my card some of these lovely features and added my greeting here rather than on the front of the card.

This is most likely my last post for the next 4-5 weeks as hubby and I are heading off for a well needed break. We will be travelling from Tasmania to the mainland on the Spirit of Tasmania and then from Melbourne to Perth, WA with our camper trailer, travelling along the coast roads. I hope to share some highlights with you when I get back, unless I manage to find some time to post while away as I am intending to take my laptop but not sure what our exact plans will be. So glad my children are old enough to fend for themselves now and that we can have this time away together, maybe we could almost call it our 'second honeymoon' many years later!

I had good intentions of having my DT commitments prepared and some others ready to schedule some posts while away but they did not happen and I can't see myself getting time in the next two days to do so...I have so many last minute packing and preparation things to do before we leave on Sunday.

Don't forget to pop on over to the Just Add Ink blog and see what the rest of the DT created and keep popping back in there on Fridays over the next month for the other weekly challenges.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come back to visit here when I am back.

I'm totally in love with this card Mae and can't believe it only took 1 hour to make - it would take me 3 hours! The earthy tones to this card are just gorgeous! Have a wonderful break - I'll miss seeing your posts!
