18th Birthday Twist & Pop Card

I made this card earlier last week but haven't been able to share it as my niece follows some of my social media forums and I didn't want to spoil the surprise.

This was the first time I had ever made a Twist & Pop Card and I am pleased to say that I was very happy with the results.

I had seen these cards around and thought for such a special birthday, Fiarna turning 18 is surely that, this card design would be appropriate.

Firstly, I went and did a search for a tutorial for a Twist & Pop card on YouTube and because I am not a patient person, or have lots of time to watch and absorb what is being shown, I looked at the length of the videos shared and was lucky that the one I chose to watch was good for me. The video for a Twist &Pop Card Tutorial by Srushti Patil was not only short, but it didn't have lots of lengthy chit chat, she posted the cardstock sizing on the screen and also showed clearly how to put it all together.

I also had the How Sweet It Is designer series paper pack still on my desk from some other cards I had been making and thought, Fiarna is such a sweet girl (and I think she has a sweet tooth like her father), that this paper would be appropriate. At first I thought it might be too young for her but when I had the finished product together, I thought 'no, this is just perfect!'.

Of course I had to add some bling with the die cut '18' and the retired glimmer paper was just perfect along with some Wink of Stella and some sequins.

This card design is one that I am definitely going to make again as it has such an impact and adds some 'joy' to the creative process!

If you haven't made one of these cards before I would encourage you to do so as it was so much fun and it inspired one of my team member's Tenille to make a birthday card for her son using this card design.
