Whale Of A Time Birthday Wishes!

I shared a link on my Facebook business page today to the Whale Of A Time Suite video by Stampin' Up! and I think it stayed in my subconscious today, such that, when I sat down at my craft room late this afternoon I just had to grab the beautiful Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper (the product item I have from the suite at the moment!) and create a card using it!

Here is the card that I made...

As you can see from the image above I don't yet own the coordinating Whale Builder Punch that could have punched out my whale from the DSP, however, I was happy to sit and fussy cut one out.

You may notice too that I used some of the beautiful Rainbow Glimmer Paper to die cut some "seaweed" using a couple of dies from the Forever Flourishing Dies.

I heat embossed the Birthday Wishes greeting, from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set, using White Emboss Powder and my trusty Heat Tool. Then I fussy cut around that too, which seems to be a popular method lately, to add your greetings to cards.

What about the little Coastal Cabana rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels pack? Don't you think they make the perfect bubbles for my whale? Do whales actually blow bubbles under water like that?

As the DSP pack comes in 6" x 6" size, I had to cut it down slightly for my card front, and so I used a strip of the off cut to follow the theme over into the inside of my card.

  • Pool Party cardstock - 10.5 cm x 29.7 cm (score at 14.85 cm for a top folding card base)
  • DSP 6" x 6" sheet - trim to 10.1 cm x 14.5 cm
  • Night of Navy cardstock - 2 cm x 6 cm (for birthday greeting)
  • Die cut three various "seaweed" elements from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper
  • Whisper White cardstock - 10.1 cm x 14.5 cm (for inside of card)
  • From DSP off cut - 1.3 cm x 14.5 cm strip
